Adjacent to the Gold Room is the Glazed Room or the Conservatory, with lovely views of Jakhoo Hill on one side and the western hills of Shimla on the other. It is an ideal place to relax amidst the begonias, geraniums and other exotic plants. Shimla is famous for its beautiful sunsets especially during the monsoons, and the Glazed room is an ideal spot, to view the gorgeous sight of the setting sun over mountainous horizon. There is a prized engraving on the wall dating back to 1838 which shows Chapslee (then known as Secretary’s Lodge) and neighbouring Auckland House (the official residence of Lord Auckland the Governor General of the East India Company) from the vantage point of the Ridge, amongst other photographs of Chapslee at various points in time.
