ITINERARIES

2 Nights and One Day

  • Arrive the previous day in time for afternoon tea at Chapslee. Take an hour or two to relax into the beautiful surroundings and wander around the house at leisure. If you feel up to it take a short walk to explore the Mall Road of Shimla to be back in time for Dinner.

  • Meet with your host Mrs. Pronoti Singh for a glimpse into the Chapslee experience, the history of the house and family as well as many interesting anecdotes.


Day One:

Morning

  • Option 1: Half day heritage walk /drive with local Guide. OR with Local Historian Mr. Raaja Bhasin

  • Option 2: Drive-Army Museum at Annandale, Viceregal Lodge, Jakhoo Temple

Afternoon

  • Option 1: One of the many other walks to explore Shimla such as the Upper Jakhoo Round, the Cchota Shimla walk or simply walking on The Mall Road and Lower Bazaar.

  • Option 2. Do the Northwood walk or simply drive down to Northwood and have afternoon tea at another lovely English cottage owned by the family and get a sense of its history.



3 Nights and Two Days

Day One:

  • Spend the day exploring Shimla. Select any or a combination of the Options listed under the 2Nights/One Day Itinerary.


Day Two:

  • Mashobra – A Curated Experience

    We at Chapslee are happy to curate a special day sojourn to Mashobra which includes a drive past the pretty spots, a guided walk through the pine forests followed by lunch at an exclusive location.

    After breakfast at Chapslee, drive for 35 minutes to reach the entrance to Mashobra village. Drive through the quaint Mashobra Bazaar and pick up some fresh strawberries (if in season) then continue on the single road with fabulous views of mountains and snows and past all the Faridkot properties till you come to the Mashobra pond. This is a quaint spot with a small meadow. There is a lovely Kali Temple built in the Pahadi style with some impressive wood carvings. Drive on to the nature park at Craignano, another pretty spot. From there begins your walk into the pine forests with a local guide. Watch out for deer and a plethora of interesting birds. Your destination is an exclusive spot where you can rest your legs and enjoy a packed lunch while admiring the fabulous views of the valley beyond and the majestic Shali Tibba. In the afternoon if you feel up to it, you can walk down to see a typical Himachali village and meet with the locals. Then in the late afternoon, make your way back to the car and drive back to Chapslee.



4 Nights and 3 Days

  • Arrive the previous day in time for afternoon tea at Chapslee. Take an hour or two to relax into the beautiful surroundings and wander around the house at leisure. If you feel up to it take a short walk to explore the Mall Road of Shimla to be back in time for Dinner.

Day Two:

  • ‘Mashobra – A Curated Experience’ OR Any other Day Trip.


Day Three:

  • Narkanda(60km/2hr)

    Narkanda is located at elevation of 2708 metres (8599 feet). The famous Hatu peak is 8 km from Narkanda. Kotgarh is 15 km from Narkanda and known for apple orchards. From Narkanda you can enjoy fabulous views of the Kinner Kailash Range of the Greater Himlayas.

  • Chail(44km/1hr45mts)

    Chail is known for its salubrious beauty and virgin forests. The Chail Palace is well known for its architecture. The palace was built as summer retreat by the Maharaja of Patiala during the British Raj. Chail has the distinction of having the world’s highest cricket ground.

  • Trek to Shali Tibba (Peak)

    The Shali Tibba is a peak that is right behind the Mashobra ridge. Shali Tibba, at an altitude of 9,423 feet, is surrounded by Shimla, Mashobra, Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda. This stand-alone peak provides a magnificent vantage point for a panoramic 360 degree view of the mountains. The road leading to the base camp, Khatnol Village, winds through a quiet and beautiful valley of blue pine and cedar forest. Away from the hustle bustle of Shimla, the trek to Shali Tibba is very beautiful and can be completed in a single day.

  • Tattapani Hot Water Springs & River Rafting(52km/1hr45mts)

    Drive to Naldera and then continue on that road down into the valley where you come alongside the River Sutlej to the town of Sunni. This place is famous for its hot sulphur springs as well as for adventure sports such as river rafting.
